IN PATAGONIA

If you look for ducks and geese hunt in the same place, WELCOME!! Our hunt operation is carried out in the south part of Buenos Aires Province. Five south geese species exist of which three of them visit every year this area, called "Cauquenes" generically in Argentina and "Canquenes or caiquenes" in Chile, all of exclusive distribution in the south part of the American continent, with presence in these last two countries.

The goose hibernation area are 50.000 acres in the south Buenos Aires Province, Argentina.

During the migration, the wild geese travel twice per year an approximate distance of 3000 Km (1900 miles), crossing the whole Patagonia from Magellan's Region and Earth Fire, until the Buenos Aires Province.

During their hibernation the geese share the habitat among three species: the Common Goose (Chloephaga Picta), the Red Goose (Chloephaga Rubidiceps, protected) and the Royal Goose (Chloephaga Poliocephala), they frequent grasslands, pastures and open areas, where they feed natural vegetation and mainly of the cow feed pastures dedicated and cultivations, which is the point that has made them not very popular between the farmers. In the Buenos Aires Province the wild geese have been considered a traditionally plague for the wheat cultivations, the species that are cultivated exactly in the area of winter wild geese concentrations. Due to this in Argentina the geese have been pursued constantly, to be considered harmful for the agriculture, for what in the year 1931 was declared them "NATIONAL PLAGUE"l.

Another system adopted by the farmers is: in some areas of the north of the Patagonia Argentina, small airplanes are hired that make flights to scare the geese and to run them from the wheat fields.

Our lodge is located in the Patagonia’s Gates. This is a region that seems to have been created especially for the waterfowl!

Indeed, this it is carried out in the same goose hunt area.

Copying the coast, in front of the Atlantic Ocean, a chain of hundreds of small and medium lagoons is located, all surrounded of wheat cultivations, corn, sunflower and pastures.

You will be able to hunt about 20/25 ducks in each one of your hunts. The hunt is alternated with the goose hunts and its depends exclusively on the climatic conditions. The hunt is over decoys and you will be attendance of a specialized hunting guides; it had seats and camouflage to make more effective your hunt. In the field you will have black coffee, soups and non alcoholic drinks to make more comfortable your hunt.

YOUR HUNT'S SCHEDULE

Once you are hosted in our Estancia or hotel, as it has been your election, and after a restorer night, the day begins approximately 5 AM o'clock, you will have 30 minutes until the american breakfast, 30 minutes more and we are ready to go to the field (6 AM), at 7 AM o'clock, with the first morning' light we will ready and clever to start the hunt.

The geese hunt, usually, ends at half morning, we will have few minutes for pictures, some relax moments and we return to the hotel. A good lunch, a while of rest and depending on the climatic conditions leaves to the lagoon for some ducks or to the field accompanied by good pointer dogs to hunt some partridges. With enough time we´ll return to the hotel.

The daily transfer to the field is carried out in comfortable vehicles type they VAN or in 4WD vehicles, depending on the rural roads conditions.
